Designing and construction of your dream house is one time investment in which all users are investing their life time investment. You might be from any part of the world but owing your own house and that too fulfilling your desire is something that every person is looking forward for and that makes them proud. In this regard, overlooking some of the basic component of designing and construction in the name of saving some small amount can be burdensome in the future. A decade of my experience has a concrete perception that people want their house to be the best and they are ready to invest any amount. Making them aware about what they are building up is very important. Its like you are giving birth and care to the newly born baby and the structure that you have built commence to revert back as how have you care from the very day. We also allow them the rough sketch of their expectation in the house, it’s because, house is somewhere your heart lives, your loved one live and it’s the best place where you share all your ups and downs, happiness and sadness so designing as per your member deeds is something that makes the designing the best. Let me forward a very simple solution that we adopt in one of our planning site in Lalitpur, the problem in the site was the scarcity of well water, many water well’s around the community have dragged everyone in great confusion that the water in the well is reducing day by day because the number of well around is increasing day by day, after a short survey, we came in a conclusion that it was not just about the number of well in surrounding but it was due to lack of recharge of water table so community adopt a recharge well which helps in recharging the water table as a result the level of water is still the same when number of well’s are increasing day by day so this is simple but the most powerful example of what change can bring if we act for it. Due to increasing concrete jungle, the barren land which can absorb water is less and problem is increasing like anything, if we can increase our approach toward in collaboration with the environment than we never have to feel reluctant for anything. Let me forward another anticipatory instance, lets imagine our community, in rural areas we might have more than thousand houses, if every house adopts the concept of planting and caring of two big trees in their house than out of 1000 house, we have 2000 trees and we can imagine what we will be contributing to the environment from it and what we will be getting from it as well. So, its ok to direct for advancement but overlooking the environment can be of great loss for us so green designing and advance planning can help in getting these things done and green designing can help us to acquire these things with minimum investment and the space for it would be with in the design so that we can have best out of it.
Now, lets talk about will green or smart designing helps in overcoming any future hazards or accident in house and the answer to it is definitely yes, our life is all about basic science and science accept 60% efficiency as good, you can increase efficiency and it would be good but with basic efficiency we are very good to go with. No design is 100% effective but making and pushing the limit up to 60% is best for us and we can have a lot from it. So, anticipating the risk in the house from earthquake, fire, water, Electricity and such can be reduced if we give proper attention to our designing aspect. In the same way, adopting some of the advanced equipment in our house can be life hacking for you. For instance, use of safe placement of hazardous object in house as gas, other apparatus, stocking of simple fire extinguisher in the house, use of sensor off and on system for electricity and proper ventilation system with sensor imbedded in house. Sensor alarm in the house is another best way to deal with any ambiguity.
For every possible hazard, advance calculation and planning and imbedding it in designing can help you tremendously to addon some measures in the future.
