Success comes after Hardwork

Nobody used to believe my vision due to my young age..
".... inspire people and help them and boost research in Nepal. "

I am Pragyan Bhattarai, engineer and youth activist of Nepal. After my graduation from India, I commence to work in a research corporation in India, after observing and working in India for a year, I feel that this type of research and development should be enhanced in Nepal so I left the job and came back to Nepal. In my begging days, I observed the teaching mythology in Nepal and was parallel working in Nepal in engineering sector. I observed that Students of Nepal are focused in subjective based more than researched based Education; so many Nepalese had to leave Nepal in search of better education and jobs. The brain drain problem is enormous in Nepal so I decided to commence my own startup with the vision to help students of Nepal and inspire them to direct their deeds for research. I also commence to write in Op-Ed section of many newspapers in order to raise awareness among Nepali. During the run, I encountered many hinder and for a youth like me, rarely people used to believe my vision and deeds. I started a research journal with the vision to provide platform for research scholar to highlight their innovation. I commence to conduct small workshop, training and many program based on research education. We do not used to have good number of students, as many students are now aware of it. After many struggling, we were able to conduct international conference in Nepal, in which more than 200 participants from abroad were here in Kathmandu to share their research ideas. I tried to take help from GON and many research centers of Nepal but they were people with words. They used to appreciate our works but would not help us anyway. Our only vision was to implement research based education and trends in Nepal. Our vision was to help solve Nepal’s problem with this research minds but many used to doubt, as I was young enough. They even did not believe that those many Scientists, professor and researchers from abroad will come to Nepal to show case their research.  This platform also helped Nepali to understand the value of Research from foreign experts and this had a good media expose in Nepal. After this, we also commence to work practically. After the earthquake in Nepal, we collaborated with different organization and visited many earthquake affected places. I was amused by then when I saw the ongoing construction techniques in those remote areas. They were practically unacceptable and that catastrophe was obvious. We commence to teach them the method of improvising it.   Many mason express their gratitude for the same and they said that they did not know these techniques could be implemented. I feel that more than economic condition and other, those people are lacking communication gap due to which we establish Nepal’s first IT based Econstruction App and website which helps people to teach and adopt the earthquake resistant techniques. US Embassy of Nepal helped it as well. I realize that Nepal is a place with lots of potential and opportunities. After many failures and success, I was able to run my Engineering consultancy and research center in Nepal with a great efficiency. We have global network for research scholars by now and are connected to many research scholars around the world. I was also facilitates with many awards as Young Entrepreneur Award, Also got chance to be the member of US Embassy Advisory Youth Council Member and more over I learn not to leave and work hard and harder for the success. I have been struggling for more than 5 years in Nepal and still am in a process to learn and teach others. Now, the scenario has change a bit and many youth are working in Nepal to bring more opportunities and are successfully taking up their dream in practical field. The scenario of research and Development is also boosting day by day so it would be best one day.  I am quite confident that my today’s hard work would help to change the shape and future of Nepal.
